To those of you with AIM...
... and who have AIM in their userinfo:

If you get a message from HalsNetLawyer after posting a journal-entry that reads something like this:
HalsNetLawyer: your friends only posts have been stolen: hxxxp://[YOURLJNAME].on.nimp.org/?u=bantown

NEVER. CLICK. THE. LINK.

It's been reported to hijack your browser (especially easy if you use IE, switch to FireFox and Opera already).
Post a warning and block the user. You might get another few dozen of strange messages, just tell them to... shuffle off and block them as well.

Gern geschehen!

My sister clicked it unfortunately... and she's scarred... just what exactly was the pic it showed you? Apparently it's a variant of the old "YOU'RE LOOKING AT GAY PORN!" Computer Prank.

Could you give me details on what it does?

Some webpage with random text and a gross, bloody background-pic. Something that could well be off rotten.com (if the page still is there).
I don't know about the gay porn prank and I don't know if clicking the link helped the half-hijack of my AIM (messages from various nicks, mostly gibberish and those nicks on my buddylist when I restarted), but my browser (Opera) worked fine after I restarted. My anti-virus software found something yesterday, but I guess that could be from anywhere.

I did a bit of digging and found something useful.
