OMG.  
Consultation of the scales this morning:
Pure. HORROR.
5 kilos in 5 weeks.

I'm off the carbohydrates now. Serious.
And I'm going to work out. Running every day, 50 press-ups (in small doses - more later), 250 sit-ups (for now, I plan to double that in a week and maybe then some) and maybe some knee-bends.

For lunch I'm having tuna salad. A can of tuna with red chili paste and some belly pepper and some lettuce. We're mostly out of protein sources (we only have that shitty sugared "vitality" stuff), but I think we're going to have chicken tonight, yay!

I'm not going to buy that iPod until I lost some serious weight. I need to get fit for the Army anyway.

And in my experience, the more you try the less it works.

But I should work out too. Not because of the weight, but because of the muscles. That roller coaster crushed my spine *mwah*

Fatty maybe, but it's the good fish fat. And remember: Not eating the fat is the main reason for being fat. Insulin is responsible for fat being stored and it's the (excess) carbohydrates that trigger (too much) insulin.
Over the past 5 weeks all the porridge (with honey and banana) and potatoes and white bread have also conditioned my pancreas to expect way too many carbohydrates, resulting in too much insulin being released regardless of how many carbohydrates follow. So I should keep up with little carbohydrates for the next three months to settle my pancreas.

Still, you would be better off with other fish, since fat does have lots of energy, as well as carbohydrates :) Unsaturated fatty acids might be better than saturated but in the end both have energy :) Fish does have a lot of proteins, though, and even though the body prefers to use the amino acids to build up proteins, it uses them for energy if necessary :)

Yeah. But the energy in fat (and proteins) needs to be broken down which in itself needs some energy and pushes circulation. Also it trains the body not to expect instant energy but work for it.
And I need energy after all. And fat is important for many vitamins.
And I need to subsitute the carbohydrates for something - and I can't just rely on protein because that would kill my kidneys.

Actually, it needs more energy to break down Glucose than it needs to break down fatty acids :)

Yep, ammonia's a bitch and gout's not nice at all *sighs*
Plus our genes are still used to processing proteins instead of carbohydrates, than except for the sugar in plants, there were no carbohydrates :)

Exactly. First time people got caries? When they started eating loads and loads of grains they had after starting farming.
And I really don't mind going with my genes. I love meat. And I might start to take a liking to a wider range of veggies.
And of course: hot(=spicy) foods.

Exactly. I have never been the bread eating type, and yes, I did everything according to my genes *proud* People still think I'm crazy because I'm not all into bread, but well..

Diets
I'll try to loose weight too, had about 71 kg a few weeks ago and I am now at 68.8 kg (this morning). It goes very slowly, but it goes. I just had a wrap with tuna, salad and mozarella cheese for lunch and for dinner I'll got a trout filet from the market with a big salad as a side-dish to it. I'll make it mediterranean, with some peppers and tomatoes and a little bit olive oil.

Hardest thing for me is not to eat too much potatoes and rice as well as noodles (I loooove them) and instead more veggies. I love veggies, but not only as main dish. And I think I will make Tandorii Chicken at the weekend.

Still no chance for press-ups, but my points at the Wii fit get better by the day I will go running tomorrow, hope the weather will be fine. Just about 20 minutes for the beginning, then more. And I have to find my shuffle for that!

I do get past the planning stage. I managed to run daily for 8 weeks training for my Sportabzeichen&Bundeswehrsporttest. Now I want to seriously get fit to a) lose weight and b) keep that option of going to the Minentaucher open... ;)

Oh, and c) I want to be the first AuPair that leaves with less weight than she arrived...

Jayne's tolle 40min Gassi-strecke hat 14min gedauert, als ich das heut gelaufen bin. Für ca 2km gar nich so schlecht, untrainiert...
