Another fandom meme - picked from shironezumi
Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions:

  • What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
  • Is he/she important to the general plot?
  • Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
  • How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
  • Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
  • Is there anything about the character you would change?
  • If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
  • Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
  • Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
  • Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Also, I want to wish shelirania, cuxife and _sussy_ a happy, belated birthday!

Rhys it is...

1.) I like Rhys because he's the steady, likeable guy. Only heartless Mary Sues could kill him off to make Gwen marry Jack! *coughs* Er, well. He's rather soft on the inside (and most of his ourside is too) and he knows what he wants. He's a no-nonsense guy. He'd never promise anything he can't do and he's damn cute when he's swearing. :D

2.) Of recently, yes. At first he was only a bit of a "nuisance" (for some shippers) but he's definitely important because he's the better part of Gwen. ;)
Also, again, no-nonsense. He has his feet firmly on the ground and since he knows what Torchwood is up against he can even trust Jack.

3.) Oh yes. *is in tears*

4.) I plan to get up half past six on Thursday to get my Mum to let me at her computer so I can get my fix - and I am still pondering if I can't watch TW on my first day with my host-family next week (omg, next week?! O_O). Any more questions?

5.) I like the Rhys/Jack non-sexual/-romantic chemistry. Both of them really care for Gwen, it's hard for them to trust each other but they do get along. I think without his background (of 51st century Time Agency and war) Jack could be a bit more flashy type of Rhys. He'd be someone to rely on.

6.) No. Ah, well, I might change bits of his wife...

7.) I think he'd be fun to be around. Though I'm not sure if he's not too much of a gentleman to join in with the raunchy jokes right away.

8.) Maybe not all-time favourite, but he's there. I wouldn't write him out, I'd never want to see him die (though he comes in second with Owen on the dying list).

9.) He's not the type to be hyped up. He's getting involved with the plot more and more, but he's... likeable. Not a reason to watch the show for, but not a reason to not watch the show.

10.) I guess there's the Gwen/Rhys shippers and the Gwen/Jack shippers, 5% of the fanbase, who devide in the love&hate fraction. Other than that people accept him.
