Hospice care for John
My last gerbil, John Sheppard, is finally paying up his debt to death.
I found him, maybe half an hour ago in his cage, lying there strangely.
After having spent the first 6-8 weeks of his life at a shop, he and his new "roomie" Radek Zelenka, came to me on December 8th 2006.
John was always shy, even fearful. He was skinny and had big, shiney black eyes. Also very cute are his white spots on his front paws and the white stripe down his neck.
Over the last year his otherwise black fur started to grey and totaaly white streaks appeared.
Radek passed away last Summer and John was a widower ever since.
Now he's lying in the palm of my hand, cold, eyes closed and having convulsions from time to time.

I hope it won't take long...
